The popularity of the word «organic» has increased dramatically over the last few years. Why are so many people talking about buying all the organic products including food, care products, clothes, toys and others? There are even many organic healthy food stores that you can find in every city. They offer a wide range of foods that are considered to be healthier than non-organic ones.

In the case of parenting, everyone wants to find organic food for their little ones, which often starts with organic baby formula. Therefore, let’s figure out whether it is really important to choose such products, or if it is just mainstream.

What’s the difference between organic and non-organic baby foods?

The term «organic» means that a product with this label has been grown and produced according to the strict rules and standards. They include choosing the area with high quality soil, raising animals with needed care and feeding them with healthy grown plants. Children in their early age are more vulnerable than adults, and organic food can help to avoid some negative ingredients that may harm their health.

Instead, conventional growers may add some chemicals while growing plants and animals. In this list you can find additives, antibiotics, GMOs, preservatives, pesticides and other adverse elements. Of course, they may not be added in large quantities, but eating them regularly can lead to serious health issues. Usually, they have their effect on the digestive system, but are also able to increase the risk of neuro-development damage. That’s why it’s so important to limit the consumption of these potentially dangerous chemicals.

Does it matter whether the food you’re giving to your child is organic?

Yes! Babies, toddlers and older kids require the best quality food to be healthy and strong. It’s crucial to receive all the necessary nutrients at a young age, because they give the essential energy to develop and make new achievements. Moreover, it’s so important to avoid negative substances like antibiotics, preservatives, GMOs and others. They can affect a baby’s health negatively and have their consequences in the long run. Babies have quite sensitive tummies that aren’t able to deal with such harmers.

But, at the same time «organic» doesn’t mean «healthiest». It’s mostly about organic baby formulas that can consist of heavy metals or other elements that can somehow deteriorate a baby’s well-being. So, it’s the parents’ responsibility to check the formula’s composition and consult a doctor before giving it to a baby. Some changing baby formula side effects may also arise. These are some digestive issues such as changes in stool, gasses or spitting. So, if you want to switch from the conventional formula to organic one, choose carefully and ask an expert for advice.

Is organic baby food available?

It’s a well-known fact that organic food appears more expensive. All because of its way of production. Raising animals or plants in the right way requires more attention and effort. Hence the higher price tag.

When it comes to the place where you can get organic baby food, they are quite common. Supermarkets in big cities always have the organic food section and you can easily find it. If you live in the countryside, markets come in handy.

What about organic baby formulas? There are so many brands that offer organic baby food. So it shouldn’t be a problem to find the most suitable one. But, if you’re living in the US and you prefer buying European baby formulas, you’ll need to order them online and wait some time for the delivery as American shops are short of these products. Luckily, there are many healthy foods and alternatives that you can buy and make your child strong and prosperous.
