CLAT 2021 Eligibility for Undergraduate Programs

To sit for the CLAT exam for admission to PG courses, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have an LLB degree from a nationally recognized institution.
- Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50 percent aggregate if they are from the General/OBC/Specially-abled group and 45 percent aggregate if they are from the SC/ST category.
- CLAT does not have an upper age restriction.
Syllabus of CLAT 2021
The CLAT Exam will be administered in an offline mode and will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions covering five separate subjects: English (Comprehension), General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. The CLAT 2021 Syllabus is divided into the following sections:
- English Language: This segment would assess candidates’ English proficiency using comprehension passages. Students may be assigned passages of approximately 450 words each. These passages can be fictional, non-fiction, or historical, etc.
- Current affairs, as well as general knowledge: This segment will again comprise passages rather than straightforward questions posed previously. The passages would remain 450 words in length and drawn from news, newspapers, and other sources.
- Quantitative Techniques: The Quantitative Techniques or Mathematics portion will consist of brief statements of facts or propositions, diagrams, or other graphical, pictorial, or diagrammatic representations of numerical data, accompanied by a sequence of queries.
- Legal Argumentation: This segment would assess the candidate’s interest in the study of law, his or her aptitude for science, and their capacity to solve problems.
- Logical Reasoning: The logical thinking portion is designed to assess a candidate’s capacity to recognize trends, logical connections, and correct illogical claims. The questions will be founded on a 300-word passage.
