If you’re planning on either buying a new or used vehicle and need to have it shipped from one place to another, there are quite a few things that you’ll want to look at to choose an auto shipper

1. Look for any Rating/Reviews Online

Whether the company is local or long distance, you can look up their name online to find any reviews that previous customers may have made. Make sure they are legitimate by checking if these are third party sites or not and using the contact information provided to give them a call to ask about the company’s services. Also, check for how long they’ve been in business and how much experience they have as a whole.

2. What are the Rates/Charges to Ship your Vehicle?

To compare auto shippers and their rates, you’ll want to get an estimate from at least three companies. You can call them or use their online forms, and be sure to ask about any additional fees that may apply. A good company should not charge you an arm and a leg to ship your vehicle; they should give you the discount price range and provide you with all of the needed information.

3. Who will be Shipping my Vehicle?

Depending on how far your current location is from where you want your vehicle to be, you may want to compare your options when it comes down to who will ship the car. For example, if you live in one state and are currently shopping for vehicles within another, you can choose to have it brought over by a car transport company or local shipper.

4. What are the Payment Options?

When you compare auto shippers, make sure to ask about any additional fees and in addition to what payment types they allow you to pay them in full. Also, find out how far in advance you’ll need to pay for your vehicle to be shipped.

5. What are the Customer Service Numbers?

When having any problems with your chosen shipper, you’ll want to have their customer service numbers on hand just in case an issue does come up that needs immediate attention. This way, you can ask them questions or file a complaint if required.

6. What are my Shipping Options?

Depending on when you’d like your vehicle to be shipped out, you can choose when and where it is delivered using an auto transport company. For example, if you want to purchase a car in another state but can’t go there yourself, you can ask your shipper about having it delivered later. This is a good option if you just recently had surgery and cannot drive for a while or if the weather conditions are terrible at that particular moment in time. In addition, you can choose from either having your vehicle shipped by land or air, depending on the availability and budget.

7. What is the Insurance Provided?

Whether or not you purchase additional insurance coverage for your vehicle once it’s been shipped, it should at least be covered by the company themselves in case of any damages that can occur to it during transport. Make sure to ask if they provide any warranties if the vehicle doesn’t arrive on time or is damaged before it gets to you.

8. What are the General Terms & Conditions?

When choosing an auto shipper, make sure to ask them about their terms and conditions so that you know what to expect in case any issues come up at the last minute. For example, find out if they require that you get the vehicle ready for shipping beforehand or if they would like to take care of it themselves. Also, ask about any fees that may apply and whether or not you’ll be responsible if damages occur during the transport process.
